RECONNECTING WITH NATURE THROUGH ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN.

The Ecology Center design located in Houston, Texas explores the synergy between outdoor-indoor conditions. The design was inspired by the spiral textures and patterns that organically exist in nature. This notion of a spiral growth formed the basis of the programmatic organization of the design. The sprawling layout transformed into a coiled formation of growth and expansion and was further used to reduce a physical separation between the public and private programs. An abundance of natural light into the gallery and research facilities was prioritized. Additionally, the large window facades were used as a tool for further creating an indoor-outdoor experience.
